Recognition, Grants & Laboratory Partners
Backed by Leading Indian Veterinary Institutions
PVD India did not build credibility overnight. From a single office in Pune in 2019, the company earned the recognition and partnerships that today underpin every diagnostic report it issues. These endorsements matter because veterinary diagnostics is a field where trust is everything — a farmer staking a season's income on a herd, or a pet owner making a treatment decision, needs to know the result is accurate and the people behind it are credible. PVD's grants, government recognition and laboratory alliances are the foundation of that trust.
Below is a detailed look at the institutions that recognise, fund and partner with PVD India, and what each relationship means for the quality of service you receive.
IVRI Izatnagar & the RKVY-RAFTAAR grant
The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar, is one of the oldest and most prestigious veterinary research institutions in Asia, operating under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). PVD India is a grant recipient of IVRI Izatnagar under the RKVY-RAFTAAR programme (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana — Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied sector Rejuvenation), a Government of India scheme that funds agricultural innovation and agri-startups.
For PVD, this grant is more than financial support — it reflects recognition under a Government of India scheme that funds agricultural innovation and agri-startups. It also connects PVD to a research ecosystem that keeps its molecular and diagnostic methods aligned with national standards.
Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India
PVD India's mission is directly supported by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Government of India. This support reflects the national importance of accessible livestock diagnostics: India is the world's largest milk producer, and the health of its cattle and buffalo populations is central to rural livelihoods and food security. By improving early disease detection at the farm gate, PVD contributes to the Ministry's broader goals of reducing livestock losses and raising farmer incomes.
DPIIT recognised startup
PVD India is a recognised startup under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), part of the Startup India initiative. DPIIT recognition is granted to innovative, scalable businesses and signals that PVD meets the government’s criteria for genuine innovation in its sector. It also reflects the company’s commitment to formal governance, compliance and long-term growth.
Chaitanya Laboratory — pathology & histopathology partner
PVD’s primary pathology partner is Chaitanya Laboratory, led by Dr. Akaram Bagal, a veterinary pathologist with over 15 years of experience. Every histopathology report, cytology result and tissue diagnostic issued under the PVD name is reviewed under expert pathological supervision through this partnership. Chaitanya’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and academic rigour ensure that complex cases — from tumour classification to post-mortem pathology — are handled to the highest diagnostic standard.
Verity Vet Laboratories — molecular & microbiology partner
For molecular and microbiological diagnostics, PVD partners with Verity Vet Laboratories, co-founded by Dr. Hitesh N. Pawar (Ph.D. Animal Biotechnology, postdoctoral research in the United States) and Dr. Namita Mitra-Pawar (Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Microbiology, Virology). This partnership brings US-level biotechnology and one of the rarest virology credentials in Indian veterinary science to PVD’s RT-PCR, DNA testing and zoonotic disease surveillance services — advanced molecular and zoonotic-disease diagnostic capabilities.
What these partnerships mean for you
When you choose PVD India, you are not relying on a single technician or a single lab. You are accessing a network: government-backed recognition for credibility, IVRI research alignment for scientific accuracy, and two specialist laboratories whose lead specialists personally sign off on the diagnostics in their fields. This layered structure is why PVD reports are trusted by farmers, pet owners, veterinary clinics and institutions alike — and why the brand is backed by respected government bodies and specialist veterinary laboratories.
